Your kitchen countertop surfaces are the first ones to show the effects of your culinary prowess! Even the toughest granite can get scratches if not sealed properly while tiled kitchen countertops too have their own marks to show. A brand new kitchen countertop will be the finishing touch to your dream kitchen. Colors can be co coordinated to complement the look of your cabinets and the paint on your walls. As a long term investment that will last for much longer than the paints or the wood cabinets, we recommend a sturdy reliable and hard to wear out material that can give your Pittsburgh, PA area kitchen a brand new look.
Granite is the first choice of home owners when it comes to kitchen countertops and its not hard to se why. As its use has become widespread it has become more affordable and has a reputation for durability and strength. Get your granite countertop sealed to prevent stains. Marble is an elegant choice for kitchen countertop but might be a little expensive. If you can't afford to have marble all around your countertop, consider a marble island kitchen countertop instead. Engineered stone or quartz countertops come in a greater variety of colors than granite and are resistant to nicks and stains. Ceramic tiled kitchen countertops are inexpensive, and are easy to clean. They could however be uneven giving them a less than elegant look and there is always the problem of grout to consider. Wood countertops are expensive but extremely good looking. Chips and scratches are always a problem, and a wood kitchen countertop is not suitable for heavy use.
No matter what the size of your budget, there' enough variety in countertop material for you to find a custom kitchen countertop that's good looking and suits your lifestyle. Take your use frequency into consideration before you decide on the kitchen countertop of your choice. High maintenance material is perfect only if you can afford to invest the time and money that's required for their upkeep.

wanting to inclose car-port and enlarge kitchen, then remodel her bathroom. would like to have done asap. |
Hello, I have a flat built around 100 years ago that needs an updated kitchen. Would require new flooring, cabinets, counters, and minor structural updates (potentially closing one door, opening another to a washroom area), but this would depend on suggested design. There is also a pantry area that could be updated, as well as a closet connected to the kitchen that houses a water heater. Need ideas on potential suggested designs and cost estimates. Not looking to use super high end, but medium to good quality materials. Thanks |
